A Fan-Fiction Interview of Deena Adam’s Character from Stronger Than the Storm
Amy: Today, I’m sharing a table with a woman who looks like she has it all together… until life proves otherwise. Meet Beth Holbrook from Stronger Than the Storm.

Amy: Beth, welcome to the café. What sort of tea would you like this morning?
Beth: I forgot you don’t serve coffee. I need a strong tea. How about green. And maybe a refill waiting nearby. It’s been that kind of season.
Amy: I imagine so. You’re a pastor’s wife, a mom of three, and a parenting coach on the brink of publishing a book. That sounds like a dream.
Beth: It did feel like one… for a while. I thought if I worked hard enough, if I prayed enough, followed all the “right” steps, I could build a life that held together neatly.
Amy: But something changed.

Beth: My daughter ran away. And suddenly, all the advice I’ve given other parents didn’t seem to apply in my own home. It’s humbling… and heartbreaking.
Amy: You strike me as someone who carries a lot quietly.
Beth: I’ve spent years helping others hold their families together. It’s not easy admitting mine might be unraveling… especially when I know some of it is my fault.
Amy: That’s a heavy place to stand. What keeps you going?
Beth: Grace. Not the polished kind we talk about on Sunday mornings. It is the kind you cling to when everything feels like it’s slipping through your fingers. I’m learning that God’s work doesn’t depend on my perfection.
Amy: And if someone reading this feels like their own life is coming undone?
Beth: I’d tell them what I’m still learning myself: storms don’t mean the end of your story. Sometimes they’re where truth comes to light… and where healing finally begins.
Amy: Well, I´m glad you were able to stop by the cafe to relax for a bit. What would you like to go with your green tea?
Beth: [a bit teary] Oh, I see you have pumpkin pie! My husband calls Leesa Punkin Pie. We both miss her so much. But I´m not sure I´d like it with green tea.
Amy: I know you are one for making chocolate chip cookies for family and church functions. And you wanted lots of caffeine… I suggest a thick slice of our Matcha Green Tea Chocolate Chip Bread. The recipe is from Cooking with a Wallflower and it is scrumptious!

Amy: Readers, I am so happy to tell you about Deena Adam´s debut novel. Deena has been a blessing in my life in so many ways from her work with the Virginia ACFW to her wonderful Facebook group for authors, Marathon. She hosts many authors on her blogs and supports their book launches. A busy pastor´s wife, she has taken the time to encourage me when I had cancer and when my daughter was ill. I pray that God blesses all of her writing richly.
Here is more about Stronger than the Storm:
A runaway teen. A wife’s devastating secret. A family’s reckoning.
Beth Holbrook has spent years building a life centered on faith and family. As a pastor’s wife, mother of three, and respected parenting coach, she’s devoted herself to helping families raise godly children. Now, with a publishing contract within reach, Beth stands on the verge of realizing a lifelong dream.
Then her daughter runs away.
Eighteen-year-old Leesa is tired of living under expectations she feels she can never meet. One impulsive decision sends her fleeing to Myrtle Beach, determined to take control of her life. But when she returns home weeks later with shocking news, the fragile peace inside the Holbrook family fractures.
As tensions rise, Beth struggles with growing conflict in her marriage, painful criticism from her mother, and the crushing realization that the advice she’s given other parents may not save her own family. Worse still, the secret she’s hidden for nearly two decades threatens to destroy the very foundation of her life.
When a powerful hurricane barrels toward their Virginia Beach home, the Holbrooks must confront the storm raging inside their hearts.
